August 6, 2009 A small brush fire (1/2 acre or so) started at approximately 11:10am on Broken Wheel Road near Eucalyptus Hills Drive [MAP]. There is no word on the cause at the time of this writing. According to a CAL-FIRE spokesperson, five engines, two fire crews, two air tankers, a helicopter, a water tender, a bulldozer and a chief officer responded to the blaze, which was battled by CAL-FIRE and the Lakeside Fire Protection District. No structures were burned or injuries reported thanks to a combination of a quick response by Fire Crews, and homes nearby having adequate defensible space. The fire was knocked down by 11:30am, and crews remained on the scene for an hour or so to mop up any remaining hot spots. Thank you to Lakeside Fire and CAL-FIRE!
